OUR IMPACT 2024

Rooted in Community

Since our founding in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant families, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House has been an anchor in our East Side community, helping New Yorkers of all ages to grow and thrive.

Today, 131 years later, the root of our work has not changed as we still educate children, feed and advocate for our neighbors, fight against injustice and provide critical, comprehensive services to thousands who depend on us.

The neighbors we serve, each with their own strengths and aspirations, are older adults, young children, families, unhoused and formerly unhoused adults, recent immigrants, adult learners and others seeking support. As an integrated settlement house equipped with a diverse and dedicated staff—social workers, teachers, mental health professionals, chefs, artists, care managers, lifeguards and more—our comprehensive continuum of care addresses the holistic needs of our community.

We wish to thank you—our clients, supporters, volunteers, partners and friends—for being a pivotal part of our mission. We could not do this essential work without you.

Thank you for your partnership and support!

OUR IMPACT is measured and evaluated by our four-person Data, Evaluation and Performance Management team as we work to improve our outcomes for thousands and make our work even more effective. We work on our own and in collaboration with academic experts to measure not just the numbers but our true results—one client at a time, one program at a time. Using data analytics, qualitative evaluations and logic models, we examine our progress, recalibrate our efforts and give our teams the information they need to manage and execute more effectively so we can devise solutions to meet the existing and emerging needs of our clients.

We are proud to have earned the 2024 Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid/GuideStar, the world's largest source of information on nonprofit organizations. This Platinum Seal is the highest level of recognition and demonstrates Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s commitment to measuring progress and results. Click here to view our Candid/GuideStar profile.
